The Politics of Water:
Is water a human right or a tradable commodity?

Maude Barlow delivers the June Callwood Lecture. With host Alanna Mitchell, author of Seasick: The Global Ocean in Crisis.

Maude Barlow is the National Chairperson of the Council of Canadians and chairs the board of Washington-based Food and Water Watch. She is a board member of the International Forum on Globalization and the recipient of 11 honorary doctorates and many awards for her environment and human rights work. Maude is also the author of 17 books, including her latest, Blue Future: Protecting Water For People and the Planet Forever.

The annual June Callwood Lecture honours the life, work and legacy of journalist, author and social activist June Callwood (1924-2007). It provides a platform for the exploration and discussion of contemporary social justice issues.
