There was drama at Chelmsford when 1/6 favourite Concorde was beaten a nose. Coasting to success under Pat Cosgrave, the rider eased up close to the finish line and snatched defeat from the jaws of victory, with My Roxanne landing the spoils. An apologetic Cosgrave afterwards admitted to Racing TV's Jess Stafford that he had made a misjudgement and should have won. The stewards banned him for 28 days.
