Our top story this afternoon...
North Korea seems to be strengthening its border security following the recent defection of a North Korean soldier... who dashed across the Joint Security Area in Panmumjeom.
A picture posted on Twitter by Marc Knapper, the acting U.S. ambassador to South Korea,... shows North Korean workers digging a trench on the northern side of the JSA.
The 24-year-old defector, identified only by his family name Oh,... was shot multiple times by his former comrades when he sprinted across the border on November 13th.
The soldier was moved out of intensive care on Friday,... and is said to be recovering well at Ajou University Hospital in Suwon, south of Seoul.
Hospital officials say the soldier has been watching South Korean and American TV shows,...and has been sharing his experience of having driven Hyundai vehicles in the North.
