Mr. Local is an upcoming Indian Tamil comedy film written and directed by M. Rajesh.[1] The film stars Sivakarthikeyan and Nayanthara in the lead roles, marking their second collaboration after Velaikkaran.[2][3] The Principal photography of the film commenced in around May 2018 and post production of the film currently progressing as of February 2019
Filming began in May 2018 which also marked Sivakarthikeyan's 13th film as lead actor.[5] The portions of the film were predominantly shot in Chennai. The first look poster of the film was unveiled by actor Sivakarthikeyan himself through his Twitter account on 2 February 2019. The film is reported to be loosely based on Rajnikanth's 1992 film Mannan.[6] The filmmakers confirmed that the film is not a remake of 2017 Telugu hit film Nenu Local which starred Nani.
