From Ask Us Anything, Episode 12 with Dr. Greg Jacobson and Mark Graban
The question: "Culture change. I'm an industrial engineer in Malaysia. The working culture here is very different from the one in Japan. The current situation in my factory floor is the operators here do not want to engage in improvement programs because they feel it does not benefit them. How do i change that culture? How do i convince them that continuous improvement is a win-win situation for them? I understand that in Japan, workers do continuous improvement because they see it as an achievement and no reward / prizes is needed to motivate them. How do i achieve that? " |
