Healthy Cycling Series™ #5 Lunge, Reach, Twist Psoas Stretch

While we love our sport, it can be absolutely punishing on our lower backs. This is due to the positioning on the bike closing the hip joint, very similar to when we sit in a chair.

When done properly this hip flexor stretch targets the Psoas muscle, which runs from the anterior (front) aspect of our Lumbar Spine (lower back), to the upper part of our Femur (upper leg bone).

As always, see your Doctor or Physical Therapist if you re experiencing any type of pain on the bike.
