‘Silent civil war’: Irish teacher jailed for refusing to call boy a girl

Sky News host James Morrow says there is a “silent civil war” in the West as a teacher is jailed indefinitely in Ireland for refusing to call a boy a girl.

Teacher Enoch Burke refused to refer to a student who was transitioning as ‘they’ rather than ‘he’ in May of last year.

He remains in Dublin’s Mountjoy Prison with no prospect of release because he refuses to comply with a court order to stay away from the school premises.

“Ireland is really fascinating to me for a couple of reasons,” Mr Morrow said.

“It seems to be one of these countries that’s become the test thin edge of the wedge to see how far they can push people on these agendas.

“Really what is happening here across the West is this sort of silent civil war because it’s not about guns and violence … but when you can compel the other side to say the word, say what they don’t believe, that’s when you’re winning and that’s what’s going on here.

“This is the big sinister thing that people [aren’t] even aware is going on.”
