Priyanka Chopra has definitely come a long way. Especially in Hollywood where within a span of few years, the actress has moved from doing a music album to a TV show to bagging this whole damn Hollywood film – Baywatch opposite Dwayne Johnson. Definitely a journey to look up to and we cannot contain our excitement to watch PC as the baddie in this film. But you’ll be really surprised to know that PC wasn’t the first choice to play the baddie in Baywatch. Yes! In an interview with Hindustan Times, the Quantico babe has herself made this revelation stating the real story behind her role in Baywatch…

#On receiving her first call for Baywatch

As per reports, PC was in talks for this film since September last year. In fact, given that she was already abroad shooting for Quantico, she apparently made constant efforts to become a part of Baywatch. However, things materialized only at the beginning of this year when she got in touch with director through a phone call. Reveals PC, “The script had come to me through my agent. I met the director actually on Skype.”

#On playing the ‘male’ baddie

For all that we know, Baywatch is going to be a reboot of the popular TV series by the same name where PC will be seen playing the villain But there is a twist in the tale. Adds Priyanka, “The script had come to me through my agent and the negative part was actually written for a man, and I spoke to the director for another role in the film. And he liked the idea of me playing the negative role despite being a woman. So the script was worked on.”

#On bonding with The Rock

I’m sure you guys loved Priyanka and Dwayne’s chemistry from the first ‘announcement’ clip that’s still going viral on the internet. Ask Priyanka about how she broke the ice with Dwayne and she says, “It was fun getting to know him. It was the first time I met him in Miami. He’s great. He’s someone who really understands what the business of cinema is and I really admire that. Again, he’s someone who comes from a completely different career path and he’s now a movie star. I admire that.”
