Ottawa homicide: Youngest victim of “senseless” killings less than 3 months old, police say | FULL |

The six people – including four children and two adults – found dead inside a home in suburban Ottawa from a “mass killing” were new to Canada from Sri Lanka, police said on Thursday. The youngest victim was just two-and-a-half months old, according to authorities.
Ottawa Police Chief Eric Stubbs said the father of the family survived and was taken to hospital to be treated for serious but non-life threatening injuries, and added that a "knife-like object" was used in the attack. Stubbs also said that a 19-year-old suspect has been charged with six counts of first-degree murder and one count of attempted murder. Suspect Febrio De-Zoysa was a Sri Lankan national and was in Canada as a student, according to Stubbs. “This was a senseless act of violence perpetrated on purely innocent people,” Stubbs said. "I know our whole community is shocked and mourning this event.” For more info, please go to https://globalnews.ca/news/10341372/berrigan-ottawa-homicide/ Subscribe to Global News Channel HERE: http://bit.ly/20fcXDc Like Global News on Facebook HERE: http://bit.ly/255GMJQ Follow Global News on Twitter HERE: http://bit.ly/1Toz8mt Follow Global News on Instagram HERE: https://bit.ly/2QZaZIB #GlobalNews #crime |
