Since Wing Chun does not teach set responses or techniques, there is room for individual interpretation and so there seem to be new versions appearing every day.
But does that mean that all these versions are correct?
Of course, we all want to believe that OUR version is correct, and everyone else is "fake", but is there a non-subjective way of evaluating this?
I believe there is - the test comes from the Wing Chun Principles. Does what you are doing adhere to them? First though, it is a good idea to define what the Wing Chun Principles are. Here, somewhat ironically, I have a different interpretation!
I believe there is just ONE Wing Chun Principle, and I discuss it in this video and how by staying true to it, you can learn to spot "fake Wing Chun."
Especially when you see it in the mirror.
