Apologies for being a day late hard drive crashed and I’ve lost all other videos so I had to start from scratch with this and might cause some problems and slowing us down over the next few weeks. In this series were going to discuss how all forms of martial arts use kata whether it’s Chinese forms, karate, tae kwon do, Krav Maga, boxing, football or even baseball they all use a form of kata. It’s not just Shotokan forms or karate forms or any secret forms of people of been doing. Forms training has been around for thousands of years, and it is used not only as the Asian forms most people associate them with but in the drills and training practices that have been done for thousands of years. All martial arts, sports, and other types of combative skills use kata basically to show things according to someone else’s ideas. In here we will break down the three ideas and purposes of kata that are used throughout all activities. So whether you are doing karate kata, Chinese forms, shadow boxing, or some fancy drills for training in your combative style then you are using kata. Let us know what you think of the video and if it helps you all. The question for the day is: “What Kata training do you use in your martial arts? ”. Let us know in the comments so we can get a discussion going.
