The end of season 5 of Vikings revealed that the series was not done with the ambitious and cunning Ivar the Boneless. The first half of season 6 picked up with Ivar slowly but surely finding new life in the eastern kingdom of Kievan Rus.

The first ten episodes of season 6 also revealed what Kattegat is like under King Bjorn’s rule, as well as depicting the adventures of Ubbe in Iceland. It all led up to an epic Viking and Rus encounter in Kattegat.
