A 4.8-magnitude earthquake jolted a county near China's northwestern city of Urumqi, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region at 21:50 Saturday (Beijing Time), the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC) said.

The epicenter was monitored at 43.57 degrees north latitude and 87.42 degrees east longitude, with a depth of 24 kilometers, in Urumqi County, the center said in a statement.

No casualties have been reported to local authorities so far.
