Building great user experiences is hard. The challenge of maintaining engagement through completion for all users in cases like clinical trials, wellness programs, and education have lasting consequences. In this talk, Chris Shinkle challenges us to look at a segment of technology that has successfully engaged their users to the point of creating a multi-billion-dollar industry based on play. Video games have captured the interest of players for decades and their model of success is built on the idea of engagement. Those lessons can be used to make more than just more games and more players. Those lessons might be the key to successful user experience designs that have real world consequences. Those lessons might even drive a cure for disease. Chris is a practitioner and maker. As a thought leader, He continually initiates new ideas and improvements at SEP. His experience comes from building products with many clients across a variety of industries. As SEPʼs Director of Innovation, Chris helps SEP engineers and clients
delivery better products. Chris speaks at conferences across the U.S. promoting Agile, Lean/Kanban, Product Management, and Design Thinking. Chris was an inaugural members of Indiana's Techpoint Tech 25. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
