Temperatures as high as 95 C or 203 F were recently found in sections of soil at the Cerro Machin volcano in Colombia. This is a bit of a surprise, but follows a period of increased earthquake activity at the volcano since 2000 CE. Meanwhile, in Iceland, the Askja volcano continues to show signs of unrest as warm water suspiciously entered a section of its caldera lake, melting it. And, in Antarctica, the Big Ben volcano on Heard Island erupted once again, sending a lava flow down its slopes. This video will discuss these stories & list the 47 volcanoes which are actively erupting across the planet.
