Poonch/ Kathua, J&K: Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch saw people observing National Voters Day with large numbers of students and senior citizens participating in the celebrations and making a pledge to vote. As part of the event, first-time voters were given their voter cards. The 7th National Voters Day, which is set on the theme of ‘Empowering young and future voters’, saw the District Election Officer highlighting the importance of the celebrations to increase enrollment of voters and to spread awareness among people. Meanwhile, in Kathua the 7th National Voters’ Day was celebrated at Govt. Degree College with a rally being flagged off by the District Election Officer Kathua, in which hundred students took part with zeal and enthusiasm.
