Jeans is the soundtrack from the 1998 film of the same name, released by West Top in March 1998. The soundtrack features artists such as Hariharan, Harini and P. Unnikrishnan. A. R. Rahman composed the music for this movie. The original soundtrack featured lyrics by Vairamuthu in Tamil. Following the success of the soundtrack, it was dubbed to Hindi with lyrics by Javed Akhtar and was released by T-Series. The Telugu version lyrics were written by A. M. Rathnam and Sivaganesh which was released by Aditya Music. The album consists of eight songs, but the last two songs were featured in the cassettes only. Audio disks of both versions featured six songs.

Jeans is a 1998 Indian Tamil-language romantic comedy film written and directed by S. Shankar; and produced by Ashok Amritraj and Murali Manohar. The film stars Prashanth and Nassar in a double role along with Aishwarya Rai in the lead roles, while Raju Sundaram, Raadhika and Lakshmi play supporting roles. The film’s background score and soundtrack is composed by A. R. Rahman, while Ashok Kumar and the duo B. Lenin and V. T. Vijayan handled the cinematography and editing respectively.

The film opened to Indian audiences on 24 April 1998 and was the most expensive film to be made in Indian cinema at that time. Owing to its success, it was later dubbed into the Hindi and Telugu languages and released with the same title. The film was selected by India as its official submission for the Best Foreign Language Film for the Academy Awards in 1998, but was not nominated
