I've actually daydreamed about making my hot dogs over the years. Hi Mountain maid my daydream a reality with their brand-new Home Hot Dog Making Kit. They include all the instructions, seasonings, and casings. You just need to supply the meat and the man-hours it takes to get the job done. Today, I'm using elk, but you could use beef, turkey, venison, moose, bear, or any other wild game.

Due to a few technical glitches, I wasn't able to tell you this...these hot dogs are free of MSG and nitrates. All natural for real with meat and seasonings....nothing more.

Although the directions do not mention smoking the weiners, I wish I had. I did not think about it until after I frozen the hot dogs. I might actually take them out of the freezer, thaw them, smoke them, and re-freeze them.

I might do a follow-up video of things I learned while making these, suggestions, etc.

These hot dogs won't taste quite like the hot dogs you buy at the store. I'd say they taste more like a traditional frankfurter...a bit of a German taste with a hint of mustard.
