The Silent Pandemic: Mental Health Implications of the COVID-19 Pandemic for the Most Vulnerable |
|
How can people with no shelter “shelter in place”? How can people with anxiety properly identify their symptoms? How can people with language barriers, fear of deportation, or limited means feel comfortable seeking health care?
This webinar raises some of these questions and explores the levels of impact the silent pandemic is having on our most vulnerable populations, specifically focusing on mental health concerns. Using the immigrant population as an example, we unpack the complex layers of this public health crisis and identify some immediate resources to address the growing mental health crisis. We also identify specific roles that academia, higher education institutions, and professional groups can take to help create a community of care. |
