Raising women’s participation in the economy can bring large benefits for all of society: it can boost economic growth, strengthen macro stability, help economies diversify, and help tackle income inequality. Despite some progress, large gender gaps remain. The IMF took a closer look at gender issues in its policy analysis and advice, research, and knowledge sharing, and promoted policies to reduce the gender gap.
