SCHIAPARELLI Paris ss23. Full Fashion Show Inferno Collection. Naomi Campbell 4K UHD. Haute Couture. Daniel Roseberry opened Spring Summer Couture Week with Inferno. The collection drew parallels between Dante Alighieri’s 1308 poem in which the narrator descends into hell and a Designer’s battle with self-doubt. This collection stands as a tribute to doubt. “When I'm in crisis, I often console myself by thinking of Elsa Schiaparelli: the codes she created, the risks she took,” says Roseberry. There are three beasts in Dante’s Inferno: a leopard, a lion and a she-wolf — representing lust, pride, and avarice and personified into garments on this runway. Shalom Harlow wore the snow leopard bustier dress, while Irina Shayk sported the lion gown and Naomi Campbell the wolf coat. Shocking has been integral to Schiaparelli’s DNA since Elsa's day.
