Dr Nick Barratt was appointed Director of Senate House Library, University of London, in April 2018, having joined in 2015 as Associate Director, Collections and Engagement. He is also a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society, an Honorary Associate Professor of public history at the University of Nottingham, a teaching fellow at the University of Dundee, and sits on the Executive Committee of the Community Archives and Heritage Group. A qualified historian specialising in thirteenth century state finance and fiscal history, he is a published author and, prior to his current position, worked in the media for a number of years.
