Curators on Camera: Leonardo da Vinci's notebooks

video thumbnail
‘It’s wonderful in the 500th anniversary year of the death of Leonardo, to be able to bring together selections from three of his notebooks.’

Curator Andrea explores the three magnificent notebooks of Leonardo da Vinci; how they differ from each other and what they tell us about the remarkable mind of Leonardo.

Leonardo da Vinci: A Mind in Motion (open 7 June – 8 September 2019) displays, for the first time in the UK, highlights from one of the British Library’s finest treasures, the Codex Arundel, alongside the Codex Forster from the V&A and a selection of sheets from the Codex Leicester. Book exhibition tickets: http://www.bl.uk/leonardo

*Please note the Codex Forster and Codex Leicester in this short film are facsimile copies.*
