Director Zaheer Raihan was the first Pakistani to make Pakistan's first color film Sangam in 1962 and the first cinema scope film Bahana in 1965. Zaheer Raihan was from Bangladesh and he was a committed Bengali. All the myths about him were popular in Pakistan. He was said to have brought his sister-in-law Bobita along with her sister-in-law to make heroin while he was making films in Lahore and Karachi.It was Oscar-winning director Satyajit Ray, who made Bobita a super hit actress in India and Bangladesh.
Zaheer Rehan was a highly educated and influential Bengali. After graduating in Bengali literature, he turned to novel writing, journalism and filmmaking. On the secession of Bangladesh from Pakistan, he made a documentary on the genocide of Bengalis, which made him known everywhere. Zaheer Raihan also had a reputation for falling in love with his sister-in-law Bobita Faida Akhter, shortly after their marriage. Bobita usually lived with her sister. Once she came to Lahore with him. Bobita first Movie wast distant thunder of Satyajit Ray, was world renowned at the time and was considered one of the ten greatest creative directors in the world.
