Education Freedom Scholarships with Chester Finn Jr. and Jim Blew | THE REPORT CARD |
|
On Thursday, the Trump administration, along with Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Rep. Bradley Byrne (R-AL), released a plan to give families more choice through “Education Freedom Scholarships.” The proposal gives businesses and individuals a federal tax credit if they donate to a state’s scholarship granting organizations. States decide whether they will participate and determine how the program will work, from deciding what students are eligible to picking education providers that can receive scholarship funds from families.
In this episode of “The Report Card with Nat Malkus,” on the AEI Education Podcast, host Nat Malkus talks to Chester Finn Jr. and Jim Blew about this idea, its political prospects, and past efforts to increase educational choice in America.
