NBA Players Who Won MVP & Finals MVP In The Same Year |
|
The only NBA players who have won a regular season MVP award, a Championship ring and the Finals MVP in the same year. There have been only 10 players to achieve this feat of awards. The list begins in 1970 with New York Knicks legend and hall of fame - Willis Reed. In 1971 Kareem Abdul-Jabbar also won the season mvp and the finals mvp. Number 8 is Moses Malone - one of the greatest rebounders in NBA history. He got his ring with the Philadelphia 76ers in 1983. Moses Malone is the only player to win back-to-back season MVP with 2 different teams. Then we get Larry Bird and Magic Johnson. Larry did it twice with the Celtics in 1984 and 1986, while Magic managed to get this accomplishment in 1987. Michael Jordan a.k.a the GOAT did it four times... 4 times bro.... enough said. after Jordan Hakeem Olajuwon had an incredible 1994 season, where he earned the people's votes for MVP and DPOY while he won the NBA Championship also that year against Patrick Ewing and the Knicks. In 2000 Shaq dominated the world of basketball. He scored with ease, dunk after dunk, he led the league in points, won MVP, won his first Ring and led the Lakers in the Finals with 30 PPG. Tim Duncan in 2003 won a MVP and got to the Finals, where the Spurs defeated the Nets. LeBron James is the latest added player to this company with the Miami Heat in 2012 and 2013.
