The film Robot 2 0 is the sequel to the 2010 hit film Robot which starred Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. The sequel stars Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar along with Amy Jackson and Sudanshu Pandey. The music of the film is by AR Rahman.

Directed by Shankar, Robot 2 0is being made on the budget of Rs 400 crore. The film has been making record pre-business deals even before its release that is expected to surpass the pre-theatre release business of Baahubali: The Conclusion.

Earlier this year, the makers of superstar Rajinikanth’s Robot 2 0 sold the satellite rights of the film are all versions, including Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi, to Zee TV for a price which was pegged at Rs 110 crore. By far, this was the biggest deal in the history of satellite deals. This was also the highest revenue produced by a regional film in this category that beat Aamir Khan’s Dangal, which fetched Rs 75 crore for its TV rights.

Vijay Subramaniam, director, content, Amazon Prime Video said in a statement said, “With this momentous deal, Amazon Prime Video further enhances its robust Bollywood and regional content library. Amazon Prime Video is happy to join hands with Lyca Productions for the exclusive streaming rights for this mega-blockbuster film. Both, Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar are phenomenal actors with an unbelievable fan following that will soon get the chance to stream the sequel of Rajnikanth’s memorable movie on their favorite streaming device.”

Robot 2 0 was first supposed to release in late 2017 but later it was postponed to January 2018. However, the release date has been postponed again but the officials have not yet announced the same. According to a report in Indian Express, Lyca Productions will announce a new date shortly. A source revealed, “The filmmakers are discussing the date. It will be announced in the next two or three days.”

Megastar Rajinikanth, Amy Jackson and Akshay Kumar starrer Robot 2 0 is one of the biggest releases of the year 2018. The movie is a sequel to the hit film, Robot which had Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the lead roles.
