Iceland Volcano Eruption Update; Lava Wall Breached, Decreasing Lava Output |

In the last 24 hours, part of the lava wall protecting the town of Grindavik was breached, leading to a lava spillover. Luckily, there is a reason why this occurred in a very specific spot which we can learn from to prevent a future repeat of this event. While potentially 4 more structures were damaged by advancing lava flows, the southern fissure appears to have completely ceased erupting.
As of the writing of this video, lava is currently erupting at an estimated rate of 5 cubic meters per second.
