Synopsis:
Ed Kennedy's life is nothing out of the ordinary; he is a teenage taxi driver who sucks at card-playing and at romance. He has a coffee-addicted dog and is hopelessly in love with his best friend, Audrey. He pretty much lives his life in a predictable pattern until he becomes the hero of a failed bank robbery.

That is when he finds the first Ace in the mailbox.

Working with only the instructions written on every card, he must find his way through all these clues to discover the source's ultimate message.

I am the Messenger has won a number of book awards, including the 2003 Children's Book Council Book of the Year Award in Australia, the Publishers Weekly Best Books of the Year for Children in 2005, and the Michael L. Printz Honour Book in 2006.
