Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg was asked about the timing of bringing the Trump case forward now seven years later.

He says it was a “rigorous” and “complex” investigation. And says charges were brought once that probe was done.

“I don’t bring cases prior to a thorough and rigorous investigation.”
“We had available evidence that was not available before,” he said. “The case was ready to be brought. And it was brought.”
