Britt Wray is a biologist-turned-artist. She researches biotechnologically-driven change in the human and non-human living world, and uses radio, video, and installation to explore her findings. Her work has been featured on CBC Radio and exhibited at The Ontario Science Centre, as well as shown/broadcast from several artist-run centres and radio stations throughout Canada, the Netherlands and the UK. She has worked in television with National Geographic in Morocco, and in film, on a documentary about synthetic biology, in the United States.

Britt recently completed her MA in the Interdisciplinary Master's of Art, Media and Design at OCAD U, where she held the President's Award. She holds a BSc (Hon) in biology from Queen's University, and a postgraduate diploma in Communications from Concordia University. Britt spent most of 2012 as a Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council foreign scholar in London, UK, investigating interdisciplinary topics in biotechnology that blur the art/science divide.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
