Art Moving Us Forward | Patricia Tomlinson | TEDxOcala |
|
In the Western European tradition, art has historically been viewed as an inert medium. But what if we thought of art in a different way? As a partner for health and well-being? As an incubator for social justice? In this talk, Tomlinson challenges the viewer to become a collaborator with art and to interact with it as a living entity that can transform lives. Patricia Tomlinson is an art historian and museum curator. After a successful career as a professional archaeologist, Tomlinson segued into art and seeks to show the confluence between the two. A native Coloradan, she is a graduate of the University of Colorado, Boulder, Colorado State University, and the University of Denver. In her spare time, Tomlinson is an avid reader, involved in animal rescue, and a spoken word artist. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
