🎵 Big Sean - Celebrity (10th Anniversary) (Clean)

“It’s the album that changed everything for me,” the Detroit emcee said.

On June 28, Big Sean’s debut project, Finally Famous, will turn 10 years old, so he’s celebrating with fans in a special way. The Detroit emcee took to Instagram on Wednesday (June 23) to announce that he’s re-releasing a remixed and remastered version of the album. He reflected on where he was a decade ago and noted the impact the record has had on his life.

“It’s the 10-year anniversary of my first album, Finally Famous,” he said. ”I never experienced this, but obviously, I’m super grateful. It’s the album that changed everything for me. It took me from being a mixtape artist to going city to city and hearing myself on the radio with ‘My Last’ with Chris Brown to ‘I Do It,’ and ‘Marvin & Chardonnay’ with me and Ye."

Finally Famous dropped on June 28, 2011 and debuted at No. 3 on Billboard 200. The re-released version will include a new track titled “Freshman 10,” which Sean recorded two years ago. The song chronicles his experience after learning he was a member of XXL’s 2010 Freshman Class, which also featured fellow emcees J. Cole, Wiz Khalifa, Jay Rock, Freddie Gibbs and the late Nipsey Hussle.

“It’s real nostalgic,” he said. “It really takes me back to that time period, that 2010, 2011 moment in my life.”
