A new explosive volcanic eruption just began in the nation of Tonga, forming the world's newest volcanic island. And, this volcano was not Hunga Tonga Hunga Ha'apai, although it did carry with it a 4 kilometer exclusion zone. Meanwhile, in Alaska, a likely magmatic intrusion occurred underneath the Trident volcano within Katmai National Park. And, in Indonesia, a series of deep earthquakes occurred underneath the Gamalama volcano. This video will discuss these volcano related news stories, as told and analyzed by a volcanologist.
