On the first day we took a hop-on hop-off bus tour with Big Bus. I used to think these were silly, but with kids they turn out to be an easy way to see the city. It drove around all the main sights including the Eiffel Tower, The Louvre, Notre Dame, Arc de Triomphe, Hotel des Invalides, Place de la Concorde, Champs-Elysees and many more.

We had dinner at a lovely little café and stayed in to watch the Eiffel Tower light up at night. There was a playground right by the tower which was a bonus.

We were staying just on the outskirts of Paris, where we could park our car, and we took the metro into town each day.

On the second day we took it a little easier. We went to the Musée d'Orsay in the morning and then Luxembourg Gardens for a relaxing afternoon with macarons and a picnic in St Germain on the way.

It was interesting, busy, tiring, amazing and something the kids will remember forever.
