A man has purchased a pair of Donald Trump’s new gold sneakers for $US9,000 at an auction.

The limited-edition shoes were auctioned after all 1,000 of the $399 sneakers sold out in two hours.

“They’re pretty ugly,” Sky News host James Macpherson said.

“I don’t know if you’d buy them for the aesthetics.

“I reckon they’d make a pretty good investment.”
