In this video, Roman Král and Tomáš Vlasatý would like to present two sharp sword made by Swordmakery Elgur (www.sword-elgur.com, https://www.facebook.com/swordmakery.elgur/), an excelent sword producer of the Czech origin.

The first sword is based on the find from grave 341, Mikulčice, Czech Republic. It is a classical representative of swords type X. It has unusual massive crossguard with a cross-section of 14x25 mm. The replica has a customized blade that was shortened to 800 mm and narrowed to 54 mm. The balance point is set 130 mm from the crossguard.

The pommel is slightly rotated in axis against to the crossguard. Total weight of he sword is 1428 g. Although the blade has a weight of roughly 800 g, the rest of the weight belongs to a massive crossguard and a robust pommel, that is not hollow according to X-rays.

The second sword belongs to Petersen type M. The replica is inspired by the sword from Dovre, Norway. Welded iron was used for both the lower and the upper crossguards.

Overall length is 86 cm (blade length 74 cm). The width of the blade is 5,9 cm. Point of balance is19 cm. The wooden grip is wrapped with linen string and covered with leather cord. The total weight is 1,12 kg.
