The COVID-19 outbreak prevented any new episodes of Countdown being recorded, leading the programme was to be suspended for 100 days. In its place, reruns of the 30th Birthday Championship and Championship of Champions XVI and XV were repeated.

*When the show returned from the COVID-19 hiatus on Monday 10th August, the studio lighting saw the clock face have more of a blue tint from the spotlight that shines onto it from beneath, while the desk appeared relatively darker than normal. Despite the design of the set itself being the same as 2017, there is—what I would consider—a significant difference to the studio lighting than usual portrayed in this video (the blue tint in particular), which is something I enjoy looking out for when watching the show to then include in my uploads.
