Where you are in life is a function of your mindset. You have the outcomes you have because of how you view the world. But have you ever thought about all of the choices you DIDN'T make? Some things you chose intentionally not to do, and sometimes you didn't even realize you were making a choice not to choose. Serendipity is the happy accident that comes into your life unexpectedly but in this talk I will ask you to think about all of the things that did not happen to you because of conscious and unconscious choices you did not make!

Elation Co-Founder Chris Dimock has a passion for harnessing technologies in new ways to help people improve their lives. For more than 20 years, Chris has been involved in innovative projects that include designing artificial intelligence based decision-support systems, creating one of the world's first intranets, and developing innovative data and voice communication systems. As founder and CEO of Western Technology Partners, an Internet service provider, (which evolved into One Eighty Communications, a full service telecommunications company) he grew annual revenues for the company from $100,000 to $7 million in just seven years, maintaining industry-leading profitability during an economic downturn. He has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and an MBA from Boston College with a concentration in Computer Science and Organizational Development. Chris and his wife, Michaele, have three children and two grandchildren. They currently live on a ranch near Cody, Wyoming. In his spare time, Chris enjoys woodworking and fly-fishing.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
