He stayed at the academy with Plato for 20 years. After the death of his teacher, he left the academy and taught in various cities for many years. In 343 BC, King Philip of Macedonia appointed him as his successor to his son Alexander. Who was later called Alexander the Great). King Philip and his son Alexander greatly respected Aristotle and were impressed by his natural sciences. When Alexander set out on a campaign to conquer Asia, Aristotle returned to Athens. After Alexander's death, the new Macedonian rulers did not help Aristotle, so he went to Chalcis on the shores of the Black Sea. Here he died in 322 BC
