What exactly is the hundred cricket tournament? When will the first match commence? How is it played?

'The Hundred' Cricket Match is introduced by England & Wales cricket board (ECB). It comes 18 years after the foundation of T20.

'The Hundred' is all set to be played in July 2021 with eight teams involving both men and women.

Unlike the traditional format, it won’t be played according to the overs, instead will be played for 100 balls in each innings. Hence the tournament is named 'THE HUNDRED'.

Eight city-based franchise teams will be participating in the tournament in which all teams will play against all other teams once.

The 8 teams participating will be:
Manchester Originals,
Northern Superchargers,
Birmingham Phoenix,
Trent Rockers,
Welsh Fie,
London Spirit,
Oval Invincibles, and
The Southern Brave.

Do you think “The Hundred” will achieve the same success as T20? Or unless India steps in it will be difficult?
