Esta canción es súper alegre, veraniega y sexy. Para nosotros era muy importante la continua presencia del agua, ya que representaba todo ese mundo que envuelve el verano”. A simple, playful melody with a thumping tropical beat spread like wildfire through TikTok and turned the song into a mega-hit. Produced by Puerto Ricans YannC from Full Harmony and Chalko based on a sample that YannC found in his personal library, the song touches on all of the brain’s pleasure receptors with its saccharine synths, mid-2000s reggaeton beat, and Myke Towers’s unique vocals inspired by love on the dancefloor. “LALA was born out of those magic moments when I listen to a rhythm that I like and I can’t change it until I get something out of it,” Myke said in an exclusive interview with Footnotes. “The chemistry I have with YannC and Full Harmony surprises me every time.” The video came together as quickly as the song and by popular demand from Myke’s fans. Filmed in Javea, Spain while on a break from touring, the video was directed by Aitana Sainz and Gus Carballo, who sought out Money Heist and Elite’s María Pedraza to play the reggaeton star’s love interest. “During the creative process, we worked from the idea that we wanted a strong, powerful woman,” both directors explained. “The desire comes from admiration, not just beauty. This song is really happy, Summer-like and sexy.
