Broken Co-Worker, which was created by elearningsecrets.com, uses a unique combination of comic book graphics and video to engage the audience. As you play through the story, you help the hero, Sam, learn how to be more assertive as he deals with Emma, the workplace bully.

Workplace bullying is a common problem that causes significant stress at work. Without effective assertiveness training and conflict management skills, people may find it difficult to be productive in the workplace. Broken Co-worker uses a series of scenarios and decisions to teach assertive communication. After each decision, Sam reflects on the consequence, which allows the player to develop self awareness about their own assertiveness at work.

Broken Co-worker uses the power of interactive storytelling to engage the audience and make learning stick. It’s very different from traditional elearning, which is often little more than an “click next” online reading experience. Interactive videos can gamify soft skills training, and is widely applicable to a broad range of subjects including leadership skills, personal growth and development, as well as conflict resolution techniques. Because it’s highly effective as well as scaleable, this new medium can have a huge impact on individuals as well as on organizational behavior as a whole.

Interactive videos and interactive stories can use third person perspective similar to films to draw the audience into the learning experience.
