I remember when I first saw this episode I hated Nate so much for hurting Blair. But now that I've watched it again I see Nair a little differently. I still feel terrible for Blair. The heartwrenching way she asks "Do you love me?" still gets to me. But I'm less angry at Nate. I think he was in an impossible situation He fell for another girl but he had all this family pressure on him to stay with Blair. He tried to do the right thing and ended up hurting everyone. I like how plans to go to the opening of Victrola because Chuck has asked him to. I also like how he says it's not Blair's fault. He doesn't try to blame her for what he did. He's just a young, well meaning but immature guy. I think Nair is one of those first love couples that just aren't meant to last forever and it's nobody's fault. Most first love couples don't work out in the end. I like how Blair gets into the limo, leaving Nate on the side walk and arrives at her destination with Chuck waiting for her. Pretty symbolic if you think about it.
