Arts.21 | A German Curator in South Korea |
|
When the Nam June Paik Center near Seoul was looking for a European curator with international experience,it eventually came across Tobias Berger, the German curator and executive director of Hong Kong's Art Spaces and a veteran of the Guangzhou Triennale. He's now the first foreign curator at a South Korean museum and many are pinning their hopes on him. He has his work cut out for him: Korean culture is still deeply traditional, and it won't be easy finding a space for contemporary art. ARTS 21 sees how he's getting on.
