Gil Shir describes the five stages of spiritual awakening as well as three hacks to make the process easier.

Talking about spiritual awakening is nothing new. It is an exciting, inspiring process that can bring into our lives a whole new layer of purpose. By learning this process (explained in the video), some of the overwhelming and confusing feelings can be avoided.

Spiritual awakening is a process where you unlock a higher level of reality. This will be an interactive experience of sharing information together as we explore these five steps.

STEP 1 - DARKNESS BEFORE DAWN
Before rising in spirituality we experience some form of emptiness that can come in the form of some personal crisis and pain. This emptiness provides a new void that we can potentially fill. We can also feel emptiness despite having everything we need—all that society promotes—yet still feel unfulfilled. The third kind of emptiness can occur when, despite everything going well, we have an inkling inside that there is something more to life.

The inner void that awakens brings questions about the purpose and the meaning of life.

STEP 2 - THE SPARK AWAKENS
Inside this void, there is a tiny spark, something we have never felt before. Within the dark emptiness, something activates and starts pulling us forward. As a result, we start searching through different methods and teachings. But while the spiritual search is exciting and gives the person a new drive, it does not satisfy the spark growing inside.

However, despite recurring disappointments, each new method we try becomes a puzzle piece in the process of slowly putting a picture together, building a new worldview, a new inner paradigm. The effort itself causes us to scrutinize and understand what this new spark really wants.

STEP 3 - FINDING CONNECTION
This is the fun part when we find a connection with everything when things start to click, and the puzzle starts to assemble. Within this clarifying picture, we also begin to feel an amazing connection to the single, loving, and guiding force of reality, something tangible that is beyond religion or mysticism.

This connection gives us the highest possible goal in life, bringing with it overwhelming positive energy that vitalizes us. We start to wonder why not everybody on this planet comes to study this same method. But this spiritual awakening reaches everybody in different stages of their lives.

By pursuing the highest possible goal, we encounter ever-new obstacles and tests, and as we overcome them, we develop new consciousness, perception, and sensitivity inside. This is how nature nurtures our desire.

STEP 4 - BACK TO THE BEGINNING
“Back to the beginning” means examining where the void and the spark originated, as well as where it is headed. This process is examined from the beginning.

Before the Big Bang, only “light” existed, fulfilling the whole of reality. This light is the ultimate force of the universe: pure love and bestowal. This force wanted to create something to give its love to. This is the reason for creation, i.e. for the creation of a receptacle that the light can fill. In essence, this creation is the vessel for the fulfillment of the light.

Initially, the light and the vessel were in complete harmony and adhered to each other, but in that state, the actual awareness of the created being was missing. So the created being had to become remote from the Creator, similar to how parents make their children go through a process of independence to find and develop themselves. However, despite such separation, the spark mentioned earlier remains and has been ripening over millions of years.

STEP 5 - EVOLUTION OF THE DESIRE
After the separation of the light from the vessel, which is done in order to make the created being independent, only the light (a positive giving force) and the spark (a negative receiving force) remains. From these two forces, the universe developed out of the explosion called “the Big Bang.”

This spiritual spark wants to return us to the original state of goodness, oneness, and adhesion with its creating source, to the state of ultimate fulfillment. Everything we undergo in life is motivated by this awakened spark, and it gradually pulls us back to that original and perfect state.

Where are we in this process? Stages four and five progress in the entire global system, individually and collectively. Awakened sparks move humanity toward the emergent state of a higher level of fulfillment.
