This is a presentation of the animated specimen. Here you can see how Byron Abbey Script typeface is working in various enviroments such as animation, reading text, and headlines.

Newstead Abbey Script was mainly inspired by the handwriting and the signature of Lord Byron, who was living in Newstead Abbey. In this place he wrote a lot of pieces of art.
The proportions are based on the architecture of the Newstead Abbey. I made 3 variations based on different windows. Their proportions are different and defined by curves, golden ratio and the ratio between height and width.
Another important aspect of the Newstead Abbey are the gardens. Due to that I wanted my typeface to be organic and wavy as the plants are. The bold ‘ink blot’ at the end or beginning of the pen strokes are reminding of the leaves.
The typeface was designed for being used on signs, tickets, websites, headers, invitations, handwritten aspects of utility forms and branding for Newstead Abbey.
