Science Sprouts Explores the Science of Ultraviolet - Class Highlights

video thumbnail
The little scientists learn about light and shadow through a demonstration on ultraviolet light with the WonderLab’s Education Director, Emmy Brockman. Science Sprouts is a weekly science enrichment program designed for toddlers and their families. Toddlers are natural scientists, and Science Sprouts is a time for them to explore, experiment, and build skills ranging from physical development to social emotional development. Science Sprouts activities are designed and facilitated by early childhood specialists and involve hands-on exploration, live music, body movement, and a commitment to accurate science!

A robust body of research shows that the first three years are the most sensitive period for brain development. There are many early childhood education programs, but few of them take into account the unique developmental needs of toddlers; sometimes called “Sensory-motor learners.” By providing a program designed SPECIFICALLY for toddlers, the WonderLab recognizes that this is a unique and essential time of development, requiring unique tools and teaching.
