Baahubali 2, the most awaited movie of recent times, will hit the screen in April next year, said filmmaker Karan Johar.

Johar took to Twitter on Friday to announce the release date of SS Rajamouli's magnum opus 'Baahubali'.

The Karan-led Dharma Production distributed the Hindi version of the first part. Baahubali: The Beginning was released on July 10, 2015, in 4,000 screens worldwide in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi and Malayalam languages. The film was made on a budget of Rs 120 crore. It became the highest grossing Indian film within India soon after its release.

'Baahubali - The Conclusion' has the same star cast as the first part - Rana Daggubati, Tamannaah Bhatia, Prabhas and Anushka Shetty. It will be released on April 28, 2017.

Moviegoers will eventually get an answer to the much-discussed question on social media - ‘Why Katappa (played by Sathyaraj) killed Baahubali (Prabhas)’? “We love it when anyone asks this question. I can’t count the number of times we get asked this. It is exciting not just for me but for the entire team, had said Director SS Rajamouli who left the movie on a cliffhanger.
