Finance Minister Bill English and new Reserve Bank Governor Graeme Wheeler have signed a new policy targets agreement with only a few tweaks to the bank's key goals.

The New Zealand dollar has continued its strong performance this week -- a trend that has been causing pain for some of our exporters.

New Zealand First leader Winston Peters is pushing a bill to amend the Reserve Bank Act so the Governor would have to take into account jobs, economic growth and the strength of the dollar.

Rachel Smalley spoke to Peters along with Labour Spokesperson David Parker and Former Reserve Bank Governor Don Brash.
